Recovery after training or a tough gym session is just as important as the workout itself. That’s why we’ve teamed up with the nutritionists at Gloucester-Hartpury Women’s Rugby Team to create a high-protein recipe designed to fuel your body, aid muscle recovery, and keep you feeling satisfied.
The star of the show? A protein-packed jerk chicken burger that combines bold Caribbean-inspired flavours with nutrient-rich ingredients. It’s the perfect balance of lean protein, freshness, and spice—ideal for refuelling after intense activity.
Make it at Home
Whip up your own version of this flavour-packed burger in just a few simple steps:
Blend together the fresh herbs, spices, and aromatics to create a vibrant jerk marinade.
Mix the marinade with creamy Greek yoghurt for extra richness and a boost of protein.
Coat your chicken generously and leave to marinate for at least a few hours (overnight for maximum flavour).
Fire up the BBQ or grill and cook until golden, smoky, and juicy.
Serve in a soft bun with crisp salad, zingy lime mayo, and sweet grilled pineapple for that perfect contrast of flavours.

Fresh Jerk Marinade Recipe
Here’s everything you’ll need to make our fresh, zesty jerk marinade at home:
½ bunch oregano
½ bunch coriander
½ bunch thyme
½ cup garlic cloves
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
1 diced onion
2 whole red chillies
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup rapeseed oil
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup lime juice
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup paprika
½ cup pimento chilli flakes
¼ cup toasted cumin seeds
¼ cup toasted coriander seeds
Simply blend everything until smooth, and your fresh jerk marinade is ready to use.
